I believe what you published made a bunch of sense. But, what about this? suppose you added a little information? I am not saying your content isn't good., however suppose you added a headline to possibly grab a person's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda plain. You might glance at Yahoo's front page and note how they create post titles to get people to click. You might add a related video or a related picture or two to get people excited about everything've written. In my opinion, it would make your website a little bit more interesting.
